Co-construction des politiques locales
Des collectifs d’habitant(e)s s’engagent avec des candidats aux élections municipales pour la mise en œuvre et le suivi des mesures (réappropriation citoyenne des politiques locales de la transition). Les élu(e)s s’engagent à :
•permettre l’accès aux informations sur les engagements pris et leurs modalités de mise en œuvre dans les premiers mois du mandat (détail des opérations, délais, avancement) pour l’ensemble des habitant(e)s de la commune,
•organiser un comité de suivi mixte (élu(e)s et habitant(e)s, possiblement agents et autres acteurs).
Pour aller plus loin : Les élus sont invités à inclure les habitant(e)s de la commune dans la définition, la mise en œuvre et le suivi des mesures.
Rapport 2020 du Compte à rebours pour la santé et le climat
Le rapport 2020 du Compte à rebours pour la santé et le climat (Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change) a officiellement été publié le 2 décembre 2020.
Un webinaire est organisé par le Centre Virchow-Villermé de Santé Publique Paris-Berlin, en collaboration avec le Centre des Politiques de la Terre et le Laboratoire interdisciplinaire d’évaluation des politiques publiques. Le séminaire sera l’occasion de présenter une vue d’ensemble du rapport en mettant l’accent sur les aspects relatifs à la santé en milieu urbain en contexte de crise climatique, à partir notamment des données disponibles en France. Toutes les prises de parole seront en anglais.

– Introduction by Anneliese Depoux, co-directrice du Centre Virchow-Villermé (5 minutes)
–Samantha Coleman : The Lancet Countdown 2020 Global Report and the Implications for Cities (15 min) Samantha will present an overview of the key messages from the 2020 global report followed by a discussion of relevant indicators on city level adaptation and mitigation. Indicators, including urban green space and city level risk assessments, will be more thoroughly discussed and data relevant to the French context will be highlighted.
–Robert Barouki : Health impact of climate change on cities, a new challenge for a physician (10 min) Robert will present some interim conclusions from the H2020 HERA project which aims at setting the EU research agenda in Environment, Climate and Health. He will then present the exposome concept and show why this concept is highly relevant to understand the impact of climate change on health ; he will illustrate this by showing how pathologies such as allergies, and respiratory cardiometabolic diseases as well as mental health are impacted by a combination of stressors elicited by climate change.

–Martin Hendel : Urban Heat Island and Heat-Waves : Climate Resilience (10 min) Cities across the globe are faced with increasing climate risks associated with climate change. Heat-waves are of particular concern for cities due to their interaction with the urban heat island effect. Recent research efforts have focused on cooling techniques that may be used to help adapt cities to extreme heat.
